We loved pretty much everything about our stay. The room was perfect, beautifully appointed, with a really great shower. It was quiet, clean, the bed was really comfortable, and the staff were very helpful. We had a great breakfast included for all 3 of us. The location was absolutely awesome - right across the plaza from the palace in the heart of old quebec.
The location was convenient for visiting Quebec - that made it functional. The rooms were appointed in good taste and very comfortable - that made it agreeable. But above all, the staff went out of their way to make one feel at home and to go the extra mile - that made it really memorable.
I would be hard pressed to find much to say here, great value for the price - but Anglophone tourists would be advised to remember that we are in Quebec - consequently the ability to speak French can only add to the enjoyment of your stay and to you complicity with the staff...
Excellent staff! Very nice, cozy room. Very comfortable bed with lots of pillows. Nice old building with lots of character. Wireless internet was very helpful. Very nice setting on a 'pedestrian only' street. Great location. Parking was close by. Pleasant restaurant (with nice staff) downstairs. I wish I had stayed here (and in Old Quebec) for more than two nights!
The location of this hotel, directly opposite Chateau Frontenac and the ramparts, is spectacular. The included breakfasts are also very good...you can choose anything from the a la carte menu. Staff are helpful.
We had the attic room, and I wouldn't choose this option again. The room was up three flight of steep and narrow stairs which were difficult to negotiate with a suitcase (though to be fair, the staff did offer to assist us). The room was very small and with the slope of the roof, my husband had to bend over to reach his side of the bed.
The hotel is ideally situated in Old Quebec. Park the car and spend days just walking to the various sites and venues. The hotel is well maintained and those fixtures that should be modern are... Lights, internet and bath. The restaurant is very good, but a bit pricey, but, overall, well worth the food, wine and ambiance. The staff is very cordial and accomodating. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Quebec City.
I especially enjoyed the friendly and very helpful staff, both in the Auberge and their restaurant! Terrific location, parking is easy ,but a little pricy!
Suberb location in the heart of the historic area, this hotel offers an outstanding restaurant, friendly, helpful staff. The room was well appointed though small. Excellent breakfast offered many choices. I would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel to others.
Our room was an superior attic room. Many steps and no elevator which would not be attractive for those unable or unwilling to climb stairs. The staff was eager to carry the bags up so that was not a concern.
The location was fabulous and the room was very spacious.
The stairs...we were not informed that there were 2 flights of steps to climb otherwise we would have asked for a lower floor. Also, when we checked out, we put our charges on a different credit card and was told that our other credit card would receive a refund...5 days later, we are still waiting!
The staff were very helpful
First thing I would say is that I have never filled in one of these opinion reports before ...but I feel that I need to. The rooms were very small . We had a superior room , goodness knows what the smaller rooms were like. The bathroom setup was very bad. Seperate toilet and basin with a door was fine but a walk in small shower with a nylon curtain was shocking. The steam from the shower went into the room and into the open space designed for clothes storage /hanging. This hotel was not cheap ! So if I were you I would look elsewhere.
The location was excellent - right in the middle of Quebec by the Chateau Frontenac, walking distance to everything. The breakfast was outstanding - your choice from menu. We even received complimentary capucino, coffee to our room at night - it was worth the tip.
The petite rooms are small for the price - but very charming. Beds were comfortable. You can upgrade to standard or deluxe - next time we will upgrade for the small amount extra.
The bedroom customization and its charm
the water-system in the shower, very modern and complicated to use!
A very charming hotel with a very helpful, friendly and considerate staff. The staff assisted and encoraged me to speak to them in French - They were very patient and considerate. All staff were very pleasant, Noelle in particular is a peach!
Stair flight a bit cumbersome - Would be challenging for the elderly. Minor issue - A wonderful place - A votre sante to Auberge !
The location was perfect, as was our room - the Marie Antoinette Suite, which was lovely (exactly as shown on the Hotel website). We would typically stay at a Fairmont Hotel, but this was much more interesting and the rooms as lovely. The staff was very friendly and accomodating; breakfast was included and was very good. Not your standard conteinental breakfast - you had about 8 choices. Highly recommend this to those looking for a truly Quebec experience.
Staff was very responsive, efficient, courteous and helpful. The hotel was situated on a pedestrian street close to the Chateau Frontenac, fine restaurants and pleasant, interesting places to walk and visit. There was easy access to Place Royal in Lower Quebec City and the Parliament Hill area. Their in-house restaurant, Pain Beni, was top notch. Tasty breakfasts with good variety were provided and we enjoyed a gourmet dinner there as well.
Design was ultra modern and in stark contrast to the charm of the old-world stone walls. It was jarring to my eye. The bathtub area did not have enough privacy. There was a partial curtain between the bath area and the main part of the bedroom.
uniqeness of the rooms they remember your name and are very helpful comfort great service great food
